Dress Code
Anything that draws attention to an individual is not acceptable. Questionable dress will be judged by ACA's standards. Violations of the dress code can result in detention. All clothing should be: clean and not wrinkled, in good repair and not faded, proper size for individual and modest fitting.
Girl's Dress Code:
blouse – oxford, button-down or Peter Pan collar, white or light blue, short or
long sleeve, only top button may be undone, blouse must be tucked in.
skirt or jumper - navy blue ( not form fitting); when in a kneeling position
with a straight back the skirt should touch the floor
For Alpha Center, the skirt should touch the top of the knee or be
longer.
shoes - sensible tie shoe or slip-on shoe; no sneaker-like shoes,
no clogs or shoes with no backs, no dress or hiking boots,
no open toe, no bright colors ( black, blue, or navy preferred),
no slippers.
socks - crew, knee-hi, stockings, tights ( no low-cut socks);
white and navy preferred, neutral or pastel colors acceptable,
no bright or fluorescent colors; no leg warmers
jewelry - modest, not attention getting, limit of two earrings per ear
no nose rings
hair - conservative in cut, style and color
makeup - no makeup to be worn by KGN to 6th graders
7th - 12th - conservative makeup
** No visible tattoos
Optional clothing : - plain white or navy blue sweater with no accent colors or
lettering; cardigan or V-neck, no crew neck or turtlenecks.- during Dec.,
Jan., Feb., & Mar.- girls may wear a white turtleneck shirt under blouse
and modest fitting, solid navy, dress slacks.
Boy's Dress Code:
shirts - oxford, button-down shirt - solid white or light blue; long or short
sleeve, not worn over printed T-shirt; must be worn tucked in, only top
button allowed to be undone. Alpha Center – polo shirt; white or lt. blue,
short or long sleeve, worn in or out
dress pants - solid navy (not faded) pants worn with black , brown or navy
dress belt; no elastic or fasteners at end of pant legs; belt worn at waist
shoes - tie or slip-on shoe; solid black or brown leather;
no sneaker-like or boot-like shoes
socks - dark dress socks or white socks(crew socks only)- no low cut;
jewelry - no earrings or nose rings
hair - conservative cut, style & color; crew cut OK but no totally shaved or
partially shaved heads; no pony tails or braids; hair should not be
past collar ( above collar preferred)
** No visible tattoos

Gym Clothes:
Alpha Center– long, loose, navy pants and sneakers
Daystar & Omega – navy sweat pants or modest, navy gym shorts
( no cut-offs, no spandex); shorts need a minimum 5 ½ inch inseam;
shirt must have sleeves; sneakers and socks
Being unprepared for gym class can result in detention.
Dress-Down Day:
The last Friday of each month is Dress-Down Day and occasionally other days
due to some field trips or special activities.
- no plain white T-shirts or T-shirts with questionable sayings or designs
- no shorts or sweat pants
- nothing outlandish-dress shoes or sneakers only: NO Flip Flops or Sandals
- capris below the knee are OK
Christian T-Shirt Day: This is a regular uniform day except for those students who
wear a Christian T-Shirt. Students may dress down if wearing a
Christian T-Shirt. Shirt must not be covered up
